Coast
Full-bleed ecosystem bands, joined by transitional dividers. The composition is the grammar.
Ocean. The tide turns under everything.
Beach. Where the water gives the land back.
Granite. Older than the trees, slower than the tide.
Pine. The line the forest holds against the salt.
Expressive compositions — the grammar bends:
Water.
Water — but a ledge broke the surface between. A reef.
The trees come straight down to the waterline. No beach at all.
Mud flat. Low tide leaves the in-between exposed.
Ocean dividers — beyond the tide clock:
Open water.
Still open water — a static swell marks the seam.
Gently rolling — the swell drifts toward the shore.
