About

Adam Braun

I'm an engineer based in Brunswick, Maine. Most of my career has been in content systems and editorial platforms — a long stretch of Drupal, a longer stretch of trying to make the boring parts of software unboring.

April 2026 made some space on my calendar. I'm using it for the things a packed calendar never lets me get to: home projects, being a more present partner and father, a couple of book ideas, a few product concepts (one of which is a clam-themed tycoon game, please don't ask), and a homelab I keep promising I'll do something useful with.

This site is the chronicle. It's built in Astro, styled with Tailwind, designed in the open. The Lighthouse scores at the bottom of every page are real — measured against the previous build, written to JSON, then rendered on the next pass. If they ever drop, that's because I shipped something that costs more than it's worth, and I'd rather show you than hide it.

Colophon

Type is set in Fraunces for display (variable, optical sizing on) and a system humanist sans for body, which loads instantly and respects your OS. Color palette is parchment, deep ink, and an oxidized teal — Maine coast at low tide, not a tech startup. Built with Astro 6, Tailwind v4 (CSS-first config, no JS theme file), and the Astro typography plugin. No tracking, no analytics, no cookies. The source is on the machine that wrote it.
